The Nuneaton Town Centre Chaplain Malcolm Fife

Listen to Malcolm Fife with Stuart Linnell on Radio Coventry and Warwickshire on Sunday morning 7th February talking about the Chaplaincy and singing two songs. It is about 2.03.00 hrs into the programme, just after the Monkees song: 'Now I'm a believer.'

Many conversations have taken place over the past months, some of which have been of great help to the people involved. Issues range through personal matters to relationship and work matters.
The chaplaincy is important as it is a Christian presence within the town which is extremely visible. I believe we are showing God’s love in a very open and practical way.
One interesting result of having a Town Centre Chaplain occurred just before Christmas. One trader on the market approached me to say that on Christmas Eve there would be left over goods that would have to be thrown out as the market would not be there for the following two weeks. Such goods would be out of date and normally would be consigned to the bin. We approached the local Baptist Church and the Salvation Army and found good use for these leftovers. The traders also took up a collection for the work of these two churches and collected in excess of £200. This would not have been possible if the Chaplaincy were not present.
In the future we hope to extend the chaplaincy by recruiting chaplains town from local churches to be assistant chaplains in
